Has the FA Cup lost its magic? I think it has. So, I decided this season to try and watch a game in every round from the extra preliminary round all the way to Wembley, to see if I can re-capture the magic of this great competition. Being a ground hopper, I didn’t want to follow one team, as they win through to the next round, but rather choose a game in each round, allowing me some new ground visits along the way. I realise that getting tickets for the Semi and Final could be problematical, but I shall cross that bridge when I come to it! My reference to steps highlights the level the club plays in the English football pyramid. Steps 1-4 are the Premier league, and then the 3 divisions of the football league (the Championship, League One, League Two). Step 5 is the top non league step, the ‘Conference national’, these days many clubs are fully or half professional. Step 6 is the Conference North/South divisions, and so on.
Please subscribe to my site, and see where I go to each round!
